Typography

Typography is a technique to present type in different structures but in a way the language is visible to read. It includes various adjusting techniques in order to create a perfectly ordered layout. These techniques include Kerning (space between letters) and tracking (the space between groups of letters). Typography is performed by many including specifically Graphic Designers. Naming one Luca Barcellona, an Italian freelance Graphic Designer and Calligrapher.  Beautifully designed, he creates works, which include vast amount of detail and perfectly structured lettering that enhance the font he uses.

Above is a piece by Luca Barcellona. The piece was named “Pleasures”.
It’s created with brush and gouache on wood panel. The font looks almost like a gothic design, hand drawn you can see the detail of brush strokes within the letters placed beside the centered text, which is the beauty of hand drawn text, nowadays technology has become such a easy way to create typography therefore people only create designs which are digitally printed not allowing the mind to fully understand the structures and curves of different typefaces.

Digital typography has become a well-known design technique, as the letters can be altered into many forms and moved around the page in order to get an idea of where the letters can be placed. A popular form of typography is in the shape of human forms. Many designs have been created this way in order to create a picture from sentences.

When reading a sentence you don’t get the feel of the emotions being portrayed. Whereas below in the image you get a real sense of the words screaming when they’re in a form of an object.
