Born 27th February 1967 Jonathan
Ive is a successful English designer who’s job title is Senior Vice President
of Industrial Design at Apple Inc since 1997.
Also the lead designer of Apple products naming a few: IPhone, IPod and
IMac. Jonathan was always interested in how objects were put together he spent
much of his time in childhood, constructing these objects to discover the
nature of how they work.
Design is significant to everything around
us, most apple products fit into small bags and they are thin light and sturdy,
making it a great object to transport wherever it is being carried to. Material seems to be well researched and it
would appear that there is no expense spared to achieve the design result.
However it should be noted that apples success owes a lot to its marketing
strategy.
Between 1985 – 1992 Jonathan studied art
and design at Newcastle Polytechnic, which then lead him to working within
design field at a London based design consultancy, joining the Apple design
team a few years later. Being such a successful
designer for a famous industry, Jonathan Ive has amazed the public’s eye. ‘I often joke that my tombstone will say, “The Guy Who Hired Jonathan
Ive”,’ says Robert Brunner, Apple’s former chief of industrial design. “ The Guardian 2011.
